Tudor Place Tour and Picnic

July 13 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Join the Racial Justice Task Force for a curator-led tour of Ancestral Spaces: People of African Descent at Tudor Place. We will hear the history of the people and families enslaved to the owners of this historic Georgetown estate. The exhibition, planned with participation by descendants of the African American community of Tudor Place, reflects the ongoing process of coming to terms with the history of the site. After the tour we will move to the beautiful gardens for a prayer service and a BYO lunch or snack. Register Early: there are only 15 spots available. 1644 31st Street NW. Contact Ann Yonemura for details or visit the Tudor Place website. Note: The tour requires standing and walking stairs. There is no parking onsite and neighborhood parking is limited. Other transportation is highly recommended.
If you miss this tour, the exhibition is open until October 13, Tuesday through Saturday 10:00-4:00. Tickets for non-members are $10 adult/$5 seniors, military, and students.
