DESCRIPTION:Join the Racial Justice Task Force for a curator-led tour of Ancestral Spaces: People of African Descent at Tudor Place. We will hear the history of the people and families enslaved to the owners of this historic Georgetown estate. The exhibition\, planned with participation by descendants of the African American community of Tudor Place\, reflects the ongoing process of coming to terms with the history of the site. After the tour we will move to the beautiful gardens for a prayer service and a BYO lunch or snack. Register Early: there are only 15 spots available. 1644 31st Street NW. Contact Ann Yonemura for details or visit the Tudor Place website. Note: The tour requires standing and walking stairs. There is no parking onsite and neighborhood parking is limited. Other transportation is highly recommended.\nIf you miss this tour\, the exhibition is open until October 13\, Tuesday through Saturday 10:00-4:00. DESCRIPTION:After a hiatus\, we are excited to restart our popular Maggie’s Cabaret series with a Friday\, May 10 show by BroadwayWorld’s Best Cabaret Solo Performance Artist in DC 2023\, singer Susan Derry\, with the wonderful Howard Breitbart as musical director and accompanist. Maggie’s Cabaret is a fundraising event for St. Margaret’s. With a suggested donation of $20 attendees receive a beverage and nibbles as they prepare to enjoy an hour of high quality talent\, using material from the Great American Songbook\, Broadway\, and other sources to deliver a memorable experience in the intimacy of our Parish Hall. No advance ticket sales; the doors open at 7:15 pm and the performance starts at 8:00. Bring a friend and enjoy a night out as we savor our spring weather!
