SUMMARY:Fall Inquirers’ Class: Being With the Church
DESCRIPTION:Curious about the Episcopal Church? Wondering about confirmation or reception? Just looking to grow in your spiritual life with others? Join us this fall for our Inquirers’ Class\, a welcoming seven-week journey into the life\, practice\, and mission of the Episcopal Church. \nThis year’s series will feature the pilot offering of Being With the Church—a new program from the creators of our popular Being With course. Each week will explore foundational themes of Christian life including prayer\, ministry\, discipleship\, mission\, Jesus\, Baptism\, and worship. The class is open to all: newcomers\, spiritual seekers\, long-time members seeking renewal\, and especially those who have participated in Being With. \nParticipation in the class also prepares those who wish to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church. The diocesan confirmation service will take place at Washington National Cathedral on Saturday\, November 15 at 10:00 a.m.\, and newly confirmed and received members will be joyfully recognized in worship on St. Margaret’s Day\, November 16. \nRegister here today and contact The Rev. Richard Weinberg for more information or to explore whether this class is right for you.

SUMMARY:From History to Conversation to Transformation: A Parish-Wide Forum on Race\, Belonging\, and Our Shared Future
DESCRIPTION:Following the release of Unveiling Our Truth: A Racial History of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church this past February\, the Racial Justice Task Force took a groundbreaking bold step. The task force conducted two rounds of focus groups – one for people of color and the other for the wider congregation – asking hard questions\, listening deeply\, and facing truths about our parish’s racial past\, present\, and future.\n\nWe will come together as a parish family to:\n\n\nExplore the purpose and process behind this vital research\nEngage with key findings – including challenges\, celebrations\, and emerging priorities\nParticipate in a meaning-making conversation that will guide our path forward to becoming a beloved church community.\n\nThis is not just a report out – it’s a chance for every voice to join in discerning how St. Margaret’s can more fully embody its call for racial justice in our parish\, Washington\, D.C.\, and our nation.
